10 tips:

1. Limit talk time on kid's cell phones

2. Enforce lights off when not in the room policy to save on electricity

3. Teach kids about the value of money - use coupons/rebates

4. Have kids help shop - teach them to find the cheapest type of an item (generic etc)

5. Buy used text books (college)

6. Don't shop too soon, wait for sales!

7. Supersize it- buy at bulk stores

8. Make homemade snacks instead of paying for prepackaged snacks at the stores/bakeries

9. Stock up during great sales
